In this short talk, Sheikh Abu Mussab Wajdi clarifies the importance of tranquility during the prayer and always remembering that we are standing in front of Allah.

On the authority of An-Nu`man ibn Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “… the worst of thieves is the one who steals his prayer.” They said, “How does he steal his prayer, Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “He does not do ruku` (bowing) or sujud (prostration) properly.” (Malik)

Nowadays, many people do not perfect their prayer, offer it in a hurry as if there is someone chasing them. Tranquility or relaxation during the prayer is one of its conditions. There is no need to rush your prayer and offer many recommended (nafl) prayers while most of them have not been accepted due to negligence of ignorance. In many narrations, the Prophet (peace be upon him) rebuked the prayer of those who offer it like the pecking of the crow.
